    What are the "Squishes?"

The Squishes are a series of big round crochet softies, aka amigurumi, that I have designed here on Moogly. They are all 10" across, and feature Bernat Blanket! And there are more to come!

These are an amazing way to learn how to crochet stuffed animals, softies, and amigurumi! The large yarn and hook size means they work up quickly and the stitches are easy to see. Assembling 3D objects can be tricky, but doing it on this large scale makes it a whole lot easier! Of course, if you love the look but prefer something more pocket sized, you can just use a thinner yarn and smaller hook!

Made in Quick and Easy Bernat Blanket!

As mentioned above, Bernat Blanket is my choice for the Squishes, our new turkey softie included. In addition to being thick and easy to use, it's also available in dozens of colors! You can pick it up on Yarnspirations.com or at your local craft store, and it's machine washable and dryable! (If you do intend to wash it, make sure to use washable stuffing. Otherwise, you can spot clean it!)

While Thanksgiving might not get as many dedicated crochet patterns, this Turkey Squish is a fun way to add extend the autumn holidays, and sure to put a smile on everyone's face!

Cute and Cuddly for Kids and Adults

This crochet turkey pillow is fun to make - and pet and squeeze! I used safety eyes, but this pattern has not been "tested for safety for children under 3 years of age." If you are crocheting it for a baby or toddler, you may wish to embroider on the features and make sure that the pieces are sewn on quite securely - especially the tail feathers! If using it as a photo prop, be sure not to leave the toy with a baby unattended.

    3. Sew the small end of the Wattle to the last round of the Bottom Half of the Body, slightly to the right of center (marked with st marker), in the front of the feet, as shown.

    4. Sew the Tail Feathers to the Top Half of the Body, right above the last round. Be sure to position opposite the eyes, centered between the wings. Sew color B feather straight up in center, sew color C feathers along either side of B feather, and then sew color D feathers straight out along side, as shown below.

    5. Use the long tail on the Top Half of Body to whip stitch the Top and Bottom together JUST OVER HALF WAY around. Be sure to match up the wings, and wattle the eyes and feet in the same direction. Stop just a few stitches past the second safety eye, and pin this sewing end out of the way.
