The basic idea behind cross-stitching, whether it's on Aida cloth or crochet or even knitted stockinette, is both simple and universal - whether you are right or left handed. You go from left to right, working diagonal stitches across a row, sewing each from the bottom left corner to the top right corner. Then, you come back the other direction, from right to left, "crossing" the stitches that need it (and skipping the ones that don't), sewing each from the bottom right corner to the top left corner. It's genuinely harder to type out than it is to do, and it's a craft anyone can learn in just a few minutes!

Then you can do fancy cross-stitch pieces or just add a little something special to your next yarny project - and you've got a whole new technique in your toolbox! Thank you I wanted to crochet an "I love you" sign but I did not like what I saw. I think this will do the trick in my blankets.
